Description
This size of leech is often referred to in the literature as a smaller medium-sized leech.
Such a leech has usually had 4 feedings, is about 6 to 7 months old and weighs about 0.8 – 1.2 grams.
The stated weight of leeches is always approximate, and the smaller medium leech may weigh less, but also more.
The smaller medium-sized leech is often used in applications on visible parts of the body, mostly in women and children, or in the elderly and infirm.

The smaller medium-sized leech leaves only a small wound that heals quickly. The scar after the application of the smaller medium leech remains mostly small and inconspicuous.
