Description
Leech of this size is often referred to in the literature as a small or cosmetic leech.
This leech usually had 3 feedings, is approximately 5 to 6 months old and weighs around 0,5 grams.
The stated weight of leeches is always indicative, and a small-cosmetic leech can weigh less or more.
The name “cosmetic leech” was adopted primarily because this size of leeches is often applied on the face and also on visible parts of the body, mostly in women and children. We can also use it in people with allergies, if we are not sure what the reaction will be when applied and we want to reduce such risk to a minimum.

Small-cosmetic leech leaves only a small wound, which heals very quickly. There is usually no scar left after the application.
